Measurements and sampling:
controlling the impact on air, water and soil
Collecting air, water and soil samples is the first fundamental step in assessing the state of a natural environment.
These samples are inseparable from measurements of concentrations, flows, physico-chemical parameters, etc.
In the context of a construction project or an environmental audit in Morocco, these two controls (sampling and measurement) enable you to:
- Anticipate and control any anomalies likely to cause pollution or health risks;
- Protect your employees, customers or users (as well as the natural environment) from physical, chemical or biological hazards;
- Evaluate the performance of your facilities and equipment;
- Adapt your industrial processes to local regulatory requirements;
- Implement corrective or monitoring actions if necessary.
Air, water and soil monitoring
Apave Morocco monitors ambient air quality, water quality and the presence of pollutants in soil.
Each environment has different monitoring requirements:
Air: measurement of industrial emissions, ambient air quality, presence of gases and particles, monitoring of atmospheric emissions;
Water: sampling of surface water, groundwater and wastewater, measurement of discharges, analysis of chemical and biological parameters;
Soil: sampling of soil or sediments, geotechnical or environmental investigations, detection of soil gases, heavy metals and hydrocarbons, monitoring of contamination or pollution.
Apave Morocco's environmental solutions
In order to ensure the regulatory compliance of your site, our experts are able to carry out measurements and take samples to determine and control the impact of your activity on public health and the environment:
- Indoor and outdoor air quality analyses;
- Soil, wastewater and waste analyses;
- Water analyses;
- Pollution measurements;
- Measurements of atmospheric emissions (channelled and diffuse);
- Measurements of noise and vibrations from industrial activity;
- Carbon footprint, carbon trajectory and action plan

Air pollution: what are the consequences?
Exposure to air pollution in the short term, and even more so in the long term, has major health consequences, particularly for vulnerable individuals.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), air pollution causes 7 million premature deaths worldwide each year.
So who is responsible for air pollution (from gas and particle emissions)? It is mainly human activities that are to blame, through industry and transport, agriculture, residential heating and combustion, etc.
Our experts, who specialise in air measurements and sampling, enable you to study, sample, analyse, interpret and then reduce your air pollution emissions. -
How can drinking water be monitored?
Regardless of whether it comes from groundwater or surface water, drinking water is subject to rigorous controls to ensure its sanitary and environmental quality.
These controls focus on:
- The quality of raw water (collected from groundwater or surface water);
- The quality of water distributed to taps.
To guarantee a healthy public distribution network, free from dirty water pollution (such as that which supplies industrial facilities, for example), BA-type backflow preventers (‘with controllable reduced pressure zones’) must be installed and inspected annually.
These anti-pollution devices prevent contaminated water from returning to the drinking water network.
