Why should I have my plant and equipment inspected?
Regular inspections of all installations and equipment are a prerequisite for ensuring the safety of users, customers and employees on site. These checks help to anticipate potential hazards, identify malfunctions early on and reduce the risk of accidents linked to faulty equipment (overheating, short-circuit, fire, etc.).
In addition to these human issues, cyclical inspection ensures that your building complies with current regulations or your own specifications. Last but not least, thanks to this preventive approach, you can enhance the reliability and performance of your equipment and installations, extend their lifespan, and limit production stoppages due to breakdowns or incidents on industrial sites.

Inspection of your equipment and facilities: solutions from Apave Senegal
Apave Senegal's teams carry out in-depth inspections of all equipment and facilities as soon as they are commissioned, and throughout their operating life.
Our services cover the following installations and equipment in particular:
- Electrical installations: switchboards, transformers, circuit breakers, switches, sockets, wiring, etc.
- Fire safety systems : smoke extraction systems, automatic fire detection systems, sprinklers, etc.
- Pressure vessels: generators, tanks, piping, weld inspection, etc.
- Mechanical and lifting equipment : elevators, forklifts, freight elevators, cranes, hoists, escalators, etc.
- Mining, port and airport equipment;
- Energy and fluid networks;
- Heating systems: boilers, air-conditioning systems, etc.
- Fuel gas installations ;
- ...
We offer non-destructive testing (NDT), designed to inspect your installations without risking damage: X-ray, ultrasonic, magnetic particle or dye penetrant testing.
Our teams, with their proven, multi-sector technical and regulatory expertise, can work on all types of site (industrial, commercial, residential, ERP, etc.).
Your questions about our plant and equipment inspections

When should I have my plant and equipment inspected?
In many sectors of activity, local regulations require certain installations and equipment to be inspected on a regular basis, according to precise deadlines. This applies in particular to electrical installations, pressure equipment, lifting equipment and fire safety systems, especially in establishments open to the public. These checks can also be carried out at different times, outside the regulatory framework: during commissioning, after a major modification or following an incident, for example. -
What is your scope of action in Senegal?
Thanks to the mobility of our teams and our presence in several cities, we can operate anywhere in Senegal (whether in metropolises - Dakar, Touba, Thiès, Pikine... - or rural areas), but also in almost all neighboring countries and the sub-region: Mali (Bamako, Sikasso...); Mauritania (Nouakchott, Nouadhibou...); Guinea (Conakry, Kankan...); Guinea-Bissau (Bissau, Bafatá...); Gambia (Banjul, Serrekunda...); Niger (Niamey, Zinder...); Nigeria (Lagos, Abuja...). Our teams travel directly to your site, as quickly as possible. -
What types of plant and equipment are subject to verification?
At Apave Senegal, we can work on all types of equipment and installations. These include electrical installations, climate systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), fire safety systems, lifting and handling equipment (elevators, cranes, hoists, forklifts, freight elevators, escalators, etc.), smoke extraction systems, fire detection systems (FDS), sprinklers, gas detection systems (combustible or toxic), sports equipment, thermal installations and medical devices. -
What is non-destructive testing?
Non-destructive testing (NDT) refers to all methods designed to assess the condition, quality or defects of a material or structure without damaging it. It enables the detection of internal anomalies (inclusions, internal cracks, weld defects, cavities, etc.) or surface defects (porosity, corrosion, etc.), while preserving the integrity of the inspected part. The most widespread NDT methods include radiography (detection of internal defects using X-rays or gamma rays), dye penetrant testing (detection of surface cracks using liquid penetration), magnetic particle testing (detection of discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials using a magnetic field), and ultrasound (detection of internal defects using sound wave propagation). The choice of method depends above all on the material concerned and the type of defect sought. Commonly used in many sectors (industry, aeronautics, construction, energy, etc.), non-destructive testing can be applied at various stages in the life cycle of a material or piece of equipment (manufacturing, maintenance, regulatory inspection, etc.). Non-destructive testing is an essential process for guaranteeing plant safety and optimizing equipment life.
