Apave, infrastructure expertise at the heart of major events

Apave, through its subsidiaries AGTS and Apave Côte d'Ivoire, has made a major contribution to the provision of high-quality infrastructure for the African Cup of Nations (ACN) hospitality tournament held in Abidjan from 13 January to 11 February 2024.

For the construction and rehabilitation of (03) three of the (06) six competition stadiums, AGTS provided:

  • G2 AVP (pre-project phase) and G2 PRO (project phase) geotechnical assignments
  • A structural diagnosis of existing stands (G5)
  • Quality control of concrete, agglos and paving stones
  • Checking the compactness of the backfill used
  • Integrity testing of foundation piles

In particular, we carried out :

  • Pressure and core sampling
  • Laboratory tests (identification tests & mechanical tests)
  • Crushing tests on concrete specimens, agglos and splitting of paving stones
  • In-situ density tests
  • Impedance testing of piles
  • Sclerometer and ultrasound index measurements

AGTS was able to attest to the good soil/structure adaptation of the following structures:

  • Félix Houphouët Boigny stadium in Abidjan
  • Charles Konan Banny stadium, Yamoussoukro
  • The Stade de la Paix in Bouaké

Apave Côte d'Ivoire monitored work on the Yakro stadium, as well as the rehabilitation of the Felix Houphouët BOIGNY stadium.

We achieved all the objectives set, enabling the African Cup of Nations to go ahead. Our expertise in geotechnical engineering and technical construction control for large-scale engineering structures and infrastructure enables us to support our partners and customers throughout their projects.

We would like to thank our customers for this renewed confidence.
