Construction of the Tunis RFR

The Tunisian Rapid Rail Network (RFR) is the seventh most expensive project in North Africa. It is an ambitious project to develop a public transport network extending over 85 km to serve Tunis and its urban area.
Aiming to complete the light metro of Tunis, this construction site can generate multiple risks, Apave contributes to control these risks and plays a major role to ensure the safety of this major national project.

Date of the operation: under construction since 2012

Description of the works: 

  • Main building: 14.650m².
  • Exterior maintenance pit level 2: 2 tracks in pit of 250m/16m
  • Maintenance and cleaning beam: 8 lanes of 250m length
  • Tower in pit: 500 m² (50m x 10m)
  • Cleaning building : 300 m² (50m x 10m)
  • Maintenance building for fixed installations: 1140 m².
  • Wastewater treatment: Wastewater treatment plant
  • Reconstructed facilities: premises 3.260m² + water tower 75m3
  • Building of the centralized command post PCC: 1100 m².
  • Building for the SNCFT: 550 m².
  • Gobâa electrical substation: Construction of the foundations, the oil recovery pit and the tracks + 220 m² building
  • Deep foundations (CFA piles) for various buildings, maintenance pit and tower in pit.
